Murder, cross-dressing, sexual-identity crises - and that's just the first episode of this funny, outrageous soap-spoof. Based on a play and film of the same name, this comedy looks at a hilariously dysfunctional Texas family whose secrets are leaking out in all ways imaginable. Mama (Rue McClanahan) is involved with a recently released jailbird/singer (Olivia Newton John), while her daughters have problems with their children, including an actor son who hasn't come out of the closet - even to himself. And let's not forget the institutionalized uncle who thinks he's been possessed by the spirit of Tammy Wynette.
Trailer trash never had so much fun - especially when it's juicy Caroline Rhea as a soap-hunk-obsessed housewife who wants to kill her inattentive husband. It's goofy, giddy and pushes the envelope every chance it gets.
