Who’s in it: Paul Rudd, Seann William Scott
What’s it about: After a run-in with cops, two energy-drink pitchmen (Rudd, Scott) must perform community service as mentors to a pair of troubled kids.
Bad examples: Danny (Rudd) winds up with fantasy-game lover Augie (Christopher Mintz-Plasse, McLoven of “Superbad”), while Wheeler (Scott) gets stuck with rowdy Ronny (Bobb’e J. Thompson). Though both adults view the court-ordered service as a joke to start, they both get involved with their kids in ways that change their own lives. And, oh yeah, everyone – including the kids – uses lots of foul language and talks about wildly inappropriate topics. The bad news is that this is a lousy movie; it looks cheap and the plot seems like a patchwork of other scripts. The good news is that it has consistently funny (and gross) jokes. So give it big ups for its potent sense of humor.
Long story short: It may not be Oscar material – but you’ll laugh a lot.
